Major League Soccer has kicked off the voting process for the 2024 MLS All-Star Game presented by Target. This year’s event invites players, fans, and media to participate in selecting the all-stars. The 2024 MLS All-Star Game is set for Wednesday, July 24, at Lower.com Field in Columbus, Ohio, where the MLS All-Stars will face off against the top players from LIGA MX.

As part of the voting process, MLS has reviewed participation metrics from the current season to categorize players according to the positions they are most utilized. Players will be selected in seven specific positions: goalkeeper, right back, center back, left back, defensive midfielder, attacking midfielder, and forward/winger.
A total of 16 Sporting Kansas City players have been nominated for the 2024 MLS All-Star ballot:
– Goalkeeper: Tim Melia
– Right Back: Jake Davis
– Center Backs: Andreu Fontas, Dany Rosero, Robert Voloder
– Left Back: Tim Leibold
– Defensive Midfielders: Nemanja Radoja, Remi Walter
– Attacking Midfielders: Memo Rodriguez, Erik Thommy
– Forwards/Wingers: Stephen Afrifa, Willy Agada, Alan Pulido, Johnny Russell, Daniel Salloi, Alenis Vargas
Of the 26 players to be selected for the All-Star Game presented by Target, the breakdown is as follows:
– 12 players will be determined by a vote from players, fans, and media, with each group representing one-third of the combined vote.
– 12 players will be selected by All-Star head coach Wilfried Nancy of the hosting Columbus Crew.
– 2 players will be chosen by Commissioner Don Garber.
Players, fans, and media will cast their votes for 11 players in a 4-1-2-3 formation: one goalkeeper, one right back, two center backs, one left back, one defensive midfielder, two attacking midfielders, and three forwards/wingers. The top players from each position based on the combined vote will be named All-Stars. The 12th player selected will be the one who received the next-highest total of overall votes.
To qualify for the ballot, players must have appeared in at least 50 percent of their club’s matches this season as of May 13, when the ballot was created. Players who did not qualify for the ballot are still eligible for selection byAll-Star head coach Wilfried Nancy or MLS Commissioner Don Garber.

As part of the All-Star voting process, fans will have the opportunity to nominate one of their 11 player selections as the captain of the All-Star team. Among the players selected for the 2024 All-Star team, the four who receive the most captain nominations from the fan vote will be placed on a ballot, allowing fans to choose the All-Star captain. The voting for the All-Star Captain Fan Vote presented by Captain Morgan opens on July 1st.
Fan voting is now open and will close at 11:59 p.m. PT on Monday, June 10. Fans can vote at mlssoccer.com/all-star/2024/vote/fan-vote or via the MLS App. Additionally, fans can share their picks on social media.
The MLS All-Star Game presented by Target, along with the All-Star Skills Challenge presented by AT&T, will be broadcast from Lower.com Field in more than 100 countries and regions.
